ROCKS FROM THE MOON

Some may wonder. Why the colour of sand here is black?

Large amounts of tourmaline and ilmenite in the granite of Gunung Gaya cause this dark-hued sand. Did you know that although these minerals are commonly found in granites, they rarely cause the sand to turn black, except for the one in Langkawi? Ilmenite, the basic mineral for the production of titanium dioxide, which is usually ground into a fine powder, is a highly white substance used as a base in a number of products including high-quality paint and paper. Did you know that ilmenite was also found in moon rocks?
