Sustainable Agriculture Through Intercropping AGR4301 Advanced Physiology 2023

Intercropping is a farming practice where two or more crops are grown simultaneously in close proximity. The goal is to maximize the use of available resources and enhance crop productivity. It was an ancient practice that has been used for thousands of years and remains an important practice in many parts of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. However, there have been shifts away from intercropping and toward monoculture production, which is associated with greater mechanization, specialization, and input use.
