Kursus ini memberi pengenalan dan kesedaran terhadap kewujudan cahaya sebagai gelombang (spektrum) dan zarah (photon) serta kepentingannya dalam kehidupan harian terutamanya pertanian. Demonstrasi alat untuk mengukur kuantiti dan kualiti cahaya juga akan diberikan disamping pameran ringkas teknologi LEDs dalam penanaman tumbuhan tanpa matahari. Kefahaman dalam sains cahaya membolehkan aktiviti agronomi tanaman dilakukan secara efisien sama ada di lapangan terbuka mahupun di dalam bangunan.
