Pauciloquent:
You speak minimally, even with people close to you
Example:
Mom: Where you going?
Me: Out?
Roommate: Where you going?
Me: Out...
(Maybe bad example, meh)
Reticent:
You speak minimally (with cautious) with unfamiliar people, but with your friends and family (whoever close to your heart), now they want you to shut up too much information!
Key Differences:
Focus: Pauciloquent focuses on the quantity of speech (speaking very little), while reticent focuses on the willingness to speak (reluctant to communicate).
Nuance: Reticent has a broader meaning, encompassing not only speaking less, but also being hesitant to share thoughts, feelings, or information. Pauciloquent is more specific to the amount of speech.
