Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is inviting undergraduate and postgraduate students, staff, academicians, researchers, industrial players, and the community to training on Principles of Photosynthesis & Chlorophyll-a Fluorescence (Licor LI-6800). The training will be held as follows:


Date : 3 - 5 September 2024 (Tuesday-Thursday)

Time : 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.

Venue : Hall Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia 43400 UPM Serdang

Registration fees as below:

Session 1 (Fundamental Theories): RM150.00

Session 2 (Demonstration & Measurements): RM400.00

Session 3 (Data Extraction, Analysis & Interpretation): RM200.00


All session (Session 1-3): RM650.00

Early bird for all session (session 1-3) participants: RM550.00


E-certificate and CPD points (for UPM staff) will be given to all registered and participants who have attended the training.

Session 1 (Fundamental Theories): Rediscover photosynthesis by understand a bit better about Photosystems (Light reactions) and Calvin Cycle (Light Independent Reaction). Complement the comprehension by understanding fluorescence concept and its roles in Plant Physiology.  Session 2 (Demonstration & Measurements): Explore the intricate parts of the LI-6800 system and learn various measurement techniques including steady state measurements, response curves, and chlorophyll fluorescence. Through detailed demonstrations, you will gain hands-on experience in handling the instrument, understanding the essential do's and don'ts.  Session 3 (Data Extraction, Analysis & Interpretation): Mastering the art of data extraction, interpretation, and analysis.
