Class Activity: Creating E-books on Cellular Respiration & Photorespiration 🌱📚

Recorded on: 23 November 2021

This video guides you through a unique online activity (worth 15 marks)! 😮 that dive deep into the world of plant physiology and demonstrate your understanding by creating an engaging e-book on either cellular respiration or photorespiration.

Here's the challenge:

1. Choose your topic:

Group Top: Cellular Respiration - the process of converting glucose into usable energy (ATP) in plant cells.

2. Group Bottom: Photorespiration - an alternative pathway that influences plant efficiency in hot and dry conditions.

All activity except lab work must still be done online. This coming activity will be your TEST-1 (15 marks) for both groups. Watch videos provided for each group. Then create an E-book using software like Canva or equivalent.

Your e-book will be evaluated on:

1. Content Outline: Clear and logical presentation of key concepts.

2. Story Flow & Coherence: Engaging narrative and smooth transitions.

3. Readability: Easy-to-understand language and clear formatting.

4. Facts & Accuracy: Reliable information and correct scientific details.

5. Creativity: Original presentation and visual appeal.

We'll show you how to:

1. Capture stunning visuals: Take screenshots directly from YouTube videos to enhance your e-book.

2. Extract text like a pro: Effortlessly extract video captions (subtitles) and turn them into well-structured articles using a simple Excel function (=MOD(ROW(),2)) and Word's replace feature (^13).
